Antique Indian Amulet, Ganesh and Pavarti, High Grade Silver, Rajasthan,13.7 Grams
This is an antique high grade silver amulet worn by the tribal people of Rajasthan in northern India. The amulet pendant is in the shape of the square form symbolic of a house plan and family unity, and die-stamped. The amulet has a three decorative bales and floral units added. The surface of the amulet has worn smooth from ritual rubbing.
The subjects of the amulet are the Hindu Gods Lord Ganesh in the four armed form, and Goddess Pavarti with a Trishul seated inside a five sided peaked pentagon, representing a temple (mandir).
The amulet has been strung on a new black Indian traditional handmade cotton thread cord with a looped end for closing. It has been silver tested for high grade silver.
This is an original antique worn collection piece in good condition.
