"The place of the amulet cases in the necklace relates conceptually to the Gandharan use of such amulets and exemplifies the continuity of ancient regional prototypes."
The three dimensional prayer box container does not open now and has been filled with lac. This would have originally provided an inner space for additional magical elements such as objects from mantras written or printed on paper. All the sets of delicately made decorative bells (ghunghrus) jingle with movement.
The necklace silver hand made terminal beads and mellon beads are all very old and worn, but still have their charm. There is silver tarnishing - but will polish up beautifully. It closes with a s hook.
