Antique Small Kufic Script Amulet, Ayaat Amulet, Antique Islamic Amulet, High Grade Silver, 4.29 Grams

Kufic is the oldest calligraphic form of the various Arabic scripts and consists of a modified form of the old Nabataean script. Kufic developed around the end of the 7th century in Kufa, Iraq, from which it takes its name, and other centres.

This is a small ancient or antique high grade silver and gray stone Islamic amulet pendant. The pendant is in the shape of a five-sided, peaked pentagon form.

The pendant has a light gray soft stone with incised lines in Kufic script. The light gray soft stone has been set in a silver case with a spiraling silver wire border added. It has a curled extension piece of silver that has a fine silver wire bar through to each side to make it flexible to move for the bale.

The amulet has been strung on a new black Indian traditional handmade cotton thread cord with a looped end. It has been silver tested for high grade silver.

This is a very old (I cannot really date but probably mid 1800's) collection piece in good condition.
