Antique Indian Amulet, Goddess Devi, Himachal Pradesh, India, 27Grams
This is a late 19th century early 20th century folk style amulet pendant from Himachal Pradesh State, in northern India.
An antique square form amulet, symbolic of a house plan, which represents a house or an enclosure, featuring a chased border or a walled-in square representing family unity. The amulet features two chased Goddess figures and a square in the left corner with Hindi characters. It has two bales and three sets of bells.
These eleven clam shaped bells are beautifully and made and the borders on each of the bells has been attached separately. They make a beautiful jingle.
