Vintage Indian Jhumka Earrings, High Grade Silver, Rajasthan, 33.1 Grams (No. 1)
This is a pair of mid 20th century traditional high grade silver Jhumka (referring to the bell shape) dangle earrings from Rajasthan, northern India.
This shape is often found in traditional Indian jewellery. The earrings are quite detailed with the ridged design at the top and rows of silver dangling bells around the base and inside.
They have a total weight of 33.1 grams.
The earrings have a charming tinkle with these small bells (ghrungrus) commonly attached to many Indian ornaments.
The earrings would have originally had ear plugs attached but normal gauge wires have been added to the earrings - 1 mm gauge and suitable for western earrings.
