Antique Islamic Tawiz Amulet, Prayer to Ali

This is a late 19th early 20th century antique silver Muslim Takhti-shaped Amulet with Prayer to Ali, in Arabic calligraphy. (The inscription of the five lines on the amulet and the description of the Nad-i-'Ali Amulet are detailed in listing photos 8 and 9. (From 'Traditional Jewelry of India' - Oppi Untracht, Page 113).

The Nad-i-'Ali amulet is much used by the Shi'ah sectarians - or followers of Ali.

It is very hard to find this type of Islamic Talisman from Northern India and they are quite rare.

The above shield shape amulet is known as "The Takhti-shape" with two sturdy bales and floral untis.

The amulet has been tested for high grade silver 92.5%.
