Antique Indian Amulet, Folk Style Hoi Mata Goddess Devi, Himachal Pradesh, 14.3 Grams

This is an early to mid 20th century folk style amulet pendant from the Himachal Pradesh State, in Northern India, bordered by Jammu and Kashmir on the north, Punjab and the Tibet Autonomous Region on the east. About 90% of the population still live in a rural environment.
The amulet features a die stamped folk style Three Sisters - or also called "Hoi Mata" Mother Goddess who presides over the well being of the family in local Hindu folk beliefs. The Goddess blessings are invoked for well being and protection of children by their mothers. A sacred, powerful charm, it is believed to offer the wearer protection.
The amulet has been strung on a new black Indian traditional handmade cotton thread cord with a looped end for closing. It has been silver tested for high grade silver.
This is an original antique worn collection piece in good condition.
