Vintage Indian Amulet, Shrinathi Ji Amulet Pendant, Krishna Amulet, High Grade Silver, 179 Grams
This is a vintage, most probably within the last 10 years, high grade silver amulet pendant. Shrinathji is a form of the Hindu god Krishna, manifest as a seven-year-old child. The principal shrine of Shrinathji is situated at the temple town of Nathdwara, located 48 kilometres north-east of Udaipur city in Rajasthan.
The icon of Shrinathji is specific as the deity symbolises the form of Krishna, when he lifted the Govardhan hill. In the image, the lord is revealed with his left hand raised and the right hand made into a fist resting at the waist, with a large diamond placed beneath the lips which is known as chibuk.
The amulet pendant is in the shape of the arrowhead form. It has been die stamped and is hollow with a very heavy silver border and backing plate added. It has to large bales.
It has been strung on a handmade Indian black cotton cord.
