Antique Indian Earrings, Double Taviz, High Grade Silver, 29 Grams
These are antique high grade silver double taviz and betel nut amulet bead earrings dating from early to mid 20th century from Rajasthan, northern India. The silver beads would have been one of several units strung on a silver necklace with a larger central amulet.
The simulated betel nut beads have been made from an ancient technique of silver sheet stamping where each detail is perfectly spaced and shaped with the pattern, attached to two taviz containers and worn as fertility amulets. They have two sturdy bales. These beads are hollow - with no wax filling.
The earrings are quite light weight at 14.6 grams and 14.4 grams, a total weight of 29 grams.
The silver ear wires have been decorated with a floral unit. The earrings and silver wires have been tested for high grade silver.
These are original old worn pieces in good condition.
