Early 20th century, high grade silver rectangular hexagonal amulet pendant containers from Kerala State, South India or the Toda Tribe in Tamil Nadu.
The six silver containers are strung on a silver snake chain with a seven silver cornerless cube beads and bone colour beads. The old beads are very uniform and well made. The taviz amulet pendants have been made from a silver stamped sheet with multi loops for the bale. They have been silver tested for high grade silver and have a lovely old silver tarnished patina. Each bead has a wax element to give weight and protect the soft silver from denting.
The beads are strung on an 51 cm (20") Indian sterling silver snake chain with a 'S' clasp for closing. The design on the clasp is used in Toda Tribe women tattoo patterns.
This is an original old worn piece in good condition.
