This is a vintage silver Indian Tikka or forehead ornament centre piece from Rajasthan in Northern India.
The forehead ornament is worn by the Bhil tribes.
The top ornament is a ball pendant worn as a tikka bead on the forehead and attached with chains to secure to the headpiece. The bottom section of the ornament is decorated with a geometric design on a rhombus square, with silver wire beading added. It has a very sturdy clip ring attached and a copper loop for hanging.
Because of the weight this pendant necklace hangs well.
The necklace has been strung on a tradition Indian black cotton cord with a sliding bead for adjusting the length. The cord measures - 71 cm (28") adjustable.
